Highly recommended. Let s hope it is durable and stays solid. Now, if Sony would only come out with this model in a DVD recording version, with a VHS combo unit, and firewire capability, they d have me buying that too. I purchased this product last week 11/28, it arrived yesterday and I installed it last night. In addition to the blu-ray player, I also purchased a D-Link wireless bridge DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point. Notice this is not the wireless bridge that Sony recommends. It didnt seem to matter at all. I had the two products setup and operational in about an hour. Since I have a D-Link router, the bridge setup was as simple as a press of a button, code name the cleaner bloopers once the bridge was successfully communicating with the router I plugged the blu-ray player and my DirecTV DVR into the bridge. I turned on the blu-ray player and had immediate connectivity no setup required AT ALL!! the DVR connected fine too if you were interested. I had to register the blu-ray player and activate my Netflix account to get the Netflix streaming to work, and in about 10 minutes I was watching a streaming movie from Netflix!! The picture quality was so-so, but I wasn t expecting much from wireless video streaming. But it didnt stop and start or become un-watchable. All in all, I was expecting this process to be painful with a few calls to customer support. I was blown away by the ease of setup. I know some folks commenting on this product wanted it to h Bought my first Blu-Ray player and it was an easy set-up. Connected wirelessly with the the WET610N to my WRT400N. It was a breeze! I have not viewed any Blu-Ray content yet but just wanted to let folks know that for wireless SONY offers a lot of content to choose from and setting it up wirelessly is the way to go! I considered the LG 390 but I read some critical reviews regarding the strength of the built in wireless. My signal is good and strong! The remote does not power the disk door to open or close, you have to get up and do it manually. There is a work-a-round for those who have a Harmony remote, which is what I did and now I do not have to get up! I hooked up my N460 last night in my basement TV temporarily to check out its performance and function needless to say this is an impressive unit and glad that I chosed this over the LG or Samsung. Everything went well ease of use and hooking it up to the internet is a breeze, downloaded and updated the latest firmware. Netflix movie streaming performance is smooth and clear didn t have the glitch, sluggishness and jerky issue as described by other reviewers. For those folks who are looking for a BD player I highly recommend this unit due to its excellent performance, functionality and its cheaper price than the other competing players with similar attributes. The only cons is the remote control which didn t have an eject button, my older Sony DVD changer remote has one! UPDATE: Relocated the unit upstairs with my main TV, there is no LAN drop in the living I ordered a D-Link DAP 1522 wireless bridge/AP last week and it finally code name the cleaner bloopers today. Link up/set up was easy and successful to my Netgear wireless N gigabit router WNR-35 Nice thing about the D-link bridge it has 4 ports which I was able to link my Dish DouDVR VIP722 receiver as well. The D-link bridge is a better alternative to the Sony recommended Linksys bridge WET-610N. We are having a lot of fun with this blu-ray player. I bought this for my husband because he wanted something that would stream Netflix to the TV and also play blu-rays. The player was quite easy to set up and use. We have a slow Internet connection and so the Netflix movies take a little while to load and they are not DVD quality but they play just fine without any stopping and starting. The blu-ray quality is great but we only own one blu-ray that we ve been able to test, and the player is also packed with a lot of other nice extras such as music stations and photo CD playback. I m not the expert on blu-rays this is my first venture into this code name the cleaner bloopers but I definitely think this is a great product, especially considering that it is less than 2 I researched a lot of blu-ray players before deciding on this one, and so far I m quite happy with my choice. Got this as part of a special along with the 46 inch Sony BF week special. Not sure if its the TV46V5100 or the player but was just watching Star Trek standard DVD not Bluray and the upscaling was excellent. I m sure with a true BR disc, it will be even better. I ve used the same disc on a standard Sony DVD player and the resolution is no comparison. In addition, action scene was pretty smooth without pixelation.
